Little Island Holidays cease trading

Following the announcement today 16th November 2009 regarding the cessation of trading of Little Island Holidays , we would like to offer our sincere best wishes to the company, it's loyal staff and their clients who have supported Tilos island in recent years. The company has closed. As a result, there are now no companies offering off the shelf package holidays to Tilos.

However, all is not lost for existing clients and new visitors to Tilos for 2011. Since the announcement, we have received literally hundreds of inquiries from former Little Island clients regarding their preferred accommodation fro 2010, and we are actively seeking to secure bookings on their behalf.

For clients wishing to visit Tilos next season, Tilos Travel offer a comprehensive range of travel services to assist clients and make the inbound and outbound journeys as smooth as possible. F.C.Tilos finish the 08 / 09 season in style !!!

In the final match of the season Tilos staged a remarkable recovery against champions elect Aris Archangelos in Rhodes. At 3-1 to the home side it looked almost certain that Aris would be crowned champions......that is until the 92nd and 95th minute in injury time when Nikos Kostidis and Kostas Sakellaris tied the match with seconds to go. This result gave the title to Orpheus Rodos who easily overcame Kleovoulo from Lindos. New Livadia Road project and other gossip !

Throughout the winter the Livadia Bay coast road project works were continuing, with the progress so far being that vehicle access from the church of Agios Nikolias along the coast up to Pavlos Rooms is now restricted. The road has been narrowed and the sea wall moved closer to the properties. Steps are being built for access to the beach.

Vehicle and motor bike access is now re routed behind the first level of buildings allowing access to the hotels along the bay. These works will provide a more relaxed and peaceful environment when visiting bars and tavernas. The road is now completed, and is routed past the cemetery.

Pavlo the bus driver is now the proud custodian of a brand new bus which will feature largely for winter and quieter times through the seasons. No doubt he will be seen around the vacinity of the Periptero (kiosk) which incidentally has a new " hat " and a new owner, namely Ilias and his family from the Marina Beach Hotel.

Recycling to help handicapped Children.

In Greece there is a campaign running to recycle the blue plastic screw cap lids from water bottles. The tops are collected and returned to the bottling plant in return for donations to the charity organizations.

Tilos Travel are helping to support this worthy cause, so if you would like to help please collect these tops during your holiday and drop them at our office or Georgo's cafe in the square.

No doubt previous visitors to Tilos have wondered if the islanders would ever have their own Bank. Well, they have since July 2004 ! The Dodecanese Bank offers opening hours of Monday to Friday 09:30 - 13:30. The bank also provides a 24 hour ATM service. Due to fraud prevention systems being updated worldwide, it is advisable to contact your bank before departure to inform them that you are travelling to Tilos and may wish to use your debit and credit cards.
